Had a nice workshop this week…polishing up drawing skills.

We worked on eggs on colored paper as one exercise, it was fun =)

  1. Lovely art work. I like your egg on colored paper. Really nice. I’d like to take a drawing class.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and letting me know you saw the peacock in the garden of St. John the Divine. After a while, no one believed me. LOL! Thought I was making up the peacock’s existence. 😉

  2. Laura: I just came from your Barking Dog Studio and see that you give drawing classes. But you’re not in the city. *le sigh* ;-(

    • Hi Paz…there are lots of great art teachers in NYC….hope you find a class you enjoy. I’m glad you enjoy my artwork…….

There are three peacocks that my friend sees in the park by the statue on a pretty regular basis…you haven’t been seeing things =)

  3. Can you recommend any teachers. Or can you suggest a way to find the teachers. I have no idea where to look. I had looked at the art students league catalogue once. Too big. Took forever to get through it and they only had a beginner’s weekend workshop. I was looking for a beginner’s class longer than the weekend. I’m looking for a drawing class… Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

    • Hi Paz, Sorry to take so long to respond. I don’t know any teachers personally in NYC. I would check continuing education art classes at Pratt, School of Visual Arts, Cooper Union, and the NY Botanical Gardens. Even though the NYBG concentrate on botanical art their drawing 1 and 2 classes are great for mastering the foundation skills of drawing =) I also recently discovered Cathy Johnson online…she has fantastic examples of her art online and her class seem very reasonable. http://cathyjohnson.info/online.html

There is also a class called “Drawing From The Right Side of The Brain” that is offered at NYBG (New York Botanical Gardens) and possibly other art schools in NY.

Glad you like my jizos….they are an ancient buddhist monk…but the ones I make are my own design. Google Jizo if you would like to know more.

      Hope this helps =)
